Ronald “Knute” Nordling

Ronald “Knute” Nordling, 85, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 in Founders Chapel at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 185 S. White Chapel Road, Southlake. Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials may be given to Christ Haven for Children, 4200 Keller Haslet Road, Keller, Texas 76244; or the Keller Youth Association, Box 284, Keller, Texas 76244.

Knute was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minn., and raised on the family farm in Hallock, Minn. He retired as a pilot from the United States Marine Corps and Braniff Airways, where he met his wife, Marilyn, who was a stewardess. After a 32-year career, he retired from Braniff II after it was revived from bankruptcy. Knute was active for many years with the Keller Youth Association and instrumental in building the baseball fields still used today. He enjoyed farming and ranching and loved flying.&

Knute was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn. Survivors: Sons, Gary Nordling and Ronny Nordling; daughter, Karen Goetting; grandchildren, Chris Nordling, Ryan Nordling, Lindsey Nordling, Katie Goetting, Emily Goetting and Duke Goetting; and great-grandchildren, Knox Nordling and Savannah Nordling.
