WILLIAM G. “BILL” ADAIR (1917 – 2015)

WG ‘Bill’ Adair, husband of former Braniff Flight Attendant/Supervisor, Helen Hopkins Adair, died on January 7, 2015, after a recent illness. At this time, a private family service is planned for 2PM on January 14,2015. A visitation/reception for friends will follow from 3PM to 5PM on January 14,2015 at the Dallas Love Field Museum of Flight on the first floor.

Helen is a long term and very active member of the Clipped B organization in Dallas and Bill was a familiar and welcome face at many Club activities.

ADAIR, William “Bill” G. William “Bill” Adair, 97, born April 20, 1917, and passed away January 7, 2015. William is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Helen Hopkins Adair; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a Major in the US Army during WWII and was captured during the Bataan Death March, spending over three years in the Japanese Prison Camp. Prior to joining the Army, he trained Philippine troops for battle. Bill was an active member of the Happy Warriors that met at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. A graduate of the University of Alabama, he was a big fan of Alabama and the Dallas Cowboys. A private burial will be held at DFW National Cemetery. A memorial reception will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2014 from 3pm – 5pm at Frontiers of Flight Museum, 6911 Lemmon Ave, Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fisher House Foundation (Dallas), 4500 S. Lancaster Rd., Bldg. 79, Dallas, TX 75216 or the VNA. Roll Tide!
