JOHN JAQUES, BN CAPTAIN

Services are being held this Saturday for John Jaques, BN Captain is the husband of hostess Cindy Jaques. Cindy is also the daughter of BN Captain Holt Friddle.

Captain John “Duke” E Jaques Jr. died against his will on December 14, 2014 in Flower Mound, TX at the age of 78.

John is survived by the love of his life, his wife Cindy Ann of Flower Mound, TX, Daughter Jennifer Kaplan-Lawson and husband Mike of PonteVedra Beach,Fl. Son Dr. John T. Jaques and wife Kammy of College Station, TX. Son Captain John “Max” Jaques III and wife Laura of Coppell,TX, Daughter Jessica “Mandy” Moberly and husband John of Frisco, TX. Sister Suzanne Gardner and Husband Flay of Irving, TX. Nephews Chris Petersen and Todd Petersen.
Grandkids: Matthew Jaques, Katie Flippen, Jordon Kaplan, Joe Jaques, Jonathan Kaplan, Harrison Moberly. Four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father John E. Jaques Sr. Mother Margaret Jaques. Granddaughter Lauren Clair Crook. Nephew John Allen Petersen.
John was born on January 20th, 1936 in Austin, TX to John and Margaret Jaques. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1958. He was in the corps all four years. He graduated with a degree in business.
He joined the air force in 1959 and had an honorable discharged in 1965.
John married Cindy, his best friend and deepest love on May 12, 1971.
John began his tremendous flying career for Braniff as a 1st officer in 1966. He later became a captain for Braniff. He also flew for Weststar, Hawaii Express, and Air Hawaii. He was a founding officer for Pan Am Shuttle. He was a test pilot for McDonald Douglas, MD80 and MD11. He retired from commercial flying at the age of 60 as the American chief pilot for China Airlines. Then he became a distinguished instructor at Simuflite for the gulfstream series.
Among the many accomplishments in his illustrious career John was requested and was honored to fly President Ronald Regan during his first primary campaign.
John was also honored to fly Gorbachev, the Dali Lama, George Bush Sr, and George W. Bush.
John has now returned to the sky and will soar above us all, looking down lovingly.
A memorial service will be held this Saturday December 20th 2014. It is scheduled for 11am at Flower Mound funeral home, with a reception to follow at Embassy Suites in Grapevine
