DOROTHY JO WISE (D.J.)

The lives of family and friends will be forever enriched by knowing and loving Dorothy Jo (D.J.) Wise. Born in Lubbock a 3lb. preemie December 23 1933 D.J. lived a full and energetic life until illness slowed her down and she passed away peacefully at home December 11 2015. D.J. grew up in Dallas attended North Texas and worked for Braniff Airlines. She met and married her partner in fun Mason Wise and the couple settled in San Antonio. Their 45 years together were filled with traveling and spending precious time with friends and family. D.J. was a great hostess who enjoyed people. She played a fierce game of bridge and loved to dance. The couple were regulars working the NIOSA beer booth well into their 70s. Very dear to D.J. was her only sibling Jackie Hall of Oklahoma City; nieces J’Layne McClure Cosby and Jennifer Van Meir; Jennifer’s children Morgan Austin and Grace; nephew Jon McClure and his children Jon Paul and Becker. Holidays and important events were spent together including Mason and D.J.’s yearly drive with their lhasa apsos to Oklahoma City on D.J.’s birthday for Christmas. Donations to a favorite charity may be made in D.J’s memory.
