Judy Peterson

Judy Peterson, aviation professional for fifty years, passed away on December 11, 2022. Judy’s career started in 1972 as a Braniff International Flight Attendant. After the Braniff bankruptcy on May 12, 1982, Judy joined the group who became the founders of Sun Country Airlines. Besides her great love and dedication as a flight attendant, Judy was also an accomplished accordion player. Judy earned her pilots license in 1984 and shortly after she received her Airline Dispatchers license as part of the Sun Country dispatch team. Judy was one of the four flight attendants who performed the FAA mini-evac as one of the final steps for airline certification by the Department of Transportation. Judy was also part of the crew on the inaugural Sun Country flight on January 20th, 1983. While continuing to “fly the line” Judy worked in several management areas which eventually turned into full time in “the office”
