Dee Lunt was hired by Braniff in 1942 when he was only 20 years old. He retired from the airline in 1973 and took up ranching on a full time basis. In later years, he became very successful as a real estate developer. In 2002 he was awarded the title of Doctor of Business Honoris Causa by his alma mater, Southern Utah University. Dee was living with his wife, Jane, in McKinney, TX and was 94 years old when he passed away.
